Meme ripped from CPegasus

1) Make a list of 15 characters first, and keep it to yourself for the moment. (That way you're not leading the questions asked to fit the characters.)

2) Ask your flist to post questions in the screened comments.

For example:

"4, 6, 12 & 15 are starting a band together, what is their name and what kind of music do they play? Also, who's the lead singer, and what instruments do the others play?"

3) After your flist has asked enough questions, round them up and answer them using the 15 characters you selected beforehand, and then post them.

Retcons

I hate retcons. For those not in the know, a retcon (retroactive continuity) is when a fact in a form of serial fiction is contradicted, with the new material now considered canon. It happens in comics a lot. Of course, comics do it because they have to maintain a timeline without having characters age. For example, The Punisher's war medals from 'nam are now from some Asia conflict. Peter Parker didn't really need those glasses to begin with, buit now they say he was nearsighted. A common occurance is bringing characters back to life. Which happens all of the freaking time. Yes, in fiction, people have the ability to die and just get better. When Jason Todd came back to life, I gave long rants to everyone who knew who Jason Todd was about how he, of all people in any work of fiction, should stay dead. Sherlock Holmes died and, well, he is still being written about today by various people. I can understand if we only see the building collapse and assume the villain died and he comes back later, but in cases like Green Goblin dying right before our very own eyes or seeing Jason Todd beaten, blown up right next to a time bomb and seeing BATMAN CONFIRM HIM DEAD AND HOLDS HIM IN HIS ARMS... they should not be able to come back. I don't care that Goblin was a cool villain, he just should have stayed dead in that warehouse when he was impaled in the chest. And yet, he somehow mastered the evil Clone Saga. And this isn't only for comics. Fraser said in Cheers that his father was dead, and during the spin off? His dad is a main character. The infamous episode of Dallas where an entire season of important events was ignored after it turned out to be a dream and susbsequently ended all ties to its spin-off, for example. The Simpsons don't have any continuity AT ALL, so they are fine. Mrs Columbo? The Cheif returned in the Pink Panther series after he was vaporized into nothingness. H20 ignored the events of half of the Halloween movies. The James Bond character no longer makes any sense... he was at least 30 in Dr No! The Odd Couple had three different meeting episodes. St. Elsewhere was revealed in the last few seonds of the show to be some autistic kids fantasy. Newhart is the only good one to happen, even being of the best final eps ever.

You have to be familiar with at least one of those.

However, the deaths are really what get what. What is dead, stays dead. There is no cure. At all. So I recently decided to look fore the core, what started all of this hoopla. What work, where? And, after hours careful research the library (rather, wacthing at least one very famous movie every weekend for the last few months) I have come up with something. I have found the first retcon:

In the New Testament, Jesus is recoreded coming back to life after a very clear death.

Thank you.

Negative Things About Me

List three negative traits that you feel you have. Ask your friends to comment on whether they agree.

For every person to comment, add one more negative trait to the list.

If you comment on this post, you must put this exersise on your own Journal.

**********

1. I tend to be a very modest person. The problem with that is that I tend to keep many of my complaints to myself and never get things cleared as a result, leaving me to be angry.

2. I am not very good at small talk, or mingling for that matter. I am very good at conversations, but I have trouble bringing myself to the average person's intellectual level. On the same note, I tend to have talk about topics at length only a few understand, such as cult topics.

3. I like to work alone. While this is not always a bad thing, it tends to harm me when I do need to work with people, usually involving me not trusting others with work.

4. I am very blunt. This sometimes shocks people.

(PS: How do you do an LJ cut?)

Leave a comment here and...
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you what song/movie reminds me of you.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle with you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something that I've always wondered about you.
8. If I do this for you, you must post this on your journal. You MUST. It is written.

And, well, because I have to... again:

Ask me 6 questions. Any six, no matter how personal, private or random, I have to answer them honestly.
